As a Fleet Personnel Officer at BSM, you will engage in crew operations, serving as a key link between ship and shore. You will be overseeing crew planning, recruitment, rotation, and development while ensuring compliance with maritime regulations and cost efficiency to support safe and continuous vessel operations.
Key Responsibilities- Execute vessel manning plans by identifying, evaluating, and selecting qualified seafarers in line with flag state regulations and budget constraints.
- Review and approve employment contracts to ensure compliance with legal and company standards.
- Plan and implement crew rotations and end-of-contract procedures to maintain uninterrupted vessel operations.
- Monitor current and future crew vacancies and support the development of annual manning plans and budgets.
- Coordinate crew embarkation and disembarkation logistics, ensuring cost-effective and timely execution.
- Liaise with flag state authorities to ensure regulatory compliance and maintain up-to-date documentation.
- Communicate operational changes to vessel personnel and ensure access to relevant documentation.
- Assess crew performance, identify training needs, and support the implementation of development plans in collaboration with training centers.
- Optimize crew travel arrangements and monitor associated costs to ensure value-for-money services.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in maritime recruitment or fleet personnel operations or a similar based role.
- Proven experience in employment contract development and crew planning.
- Familiarity with maritime labor law and seafarers’ rights.
- Strong understanding of vessel crew requirements and seafarer qualifications.
- Knowledge of global and local maritime employment markets.
- Excellent organizational and planning skills.
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and coordinate across geographies.
- High attention to detail and commitment to compliance.
- Strong communication skills and fluency in English.
