The Senior Capital Projects Manager role involves managing all operational aspects of Capital Work, including Barnsley Homes Standard, Programmed Replacements, Major Adaptations, and extensive structural and building safety compliance work under our contract obligations. You will develop and implement service improvements, incorporating legislative changes into the service area, and lead all staff in the service area, ensuring the operational team is effective.

Key duties and responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the operational delivery within the service area, ensuring Health and Safety legislation and good practice are adhered to.
  • Lead on the development and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of the business.
  • Maintain and build effective working relationships with colleagues, stakeholders, and applicable sub-contractors, exploring best practices that result in positive change and efficiencies.
  • Responsible for authorising aspects of building safety within the service area, ensuring operatives are adequately trained and competent to deliver works.
  • Ensure the service area delivers a customer-focused service and a high-quality, efficient service where customer safety is at the forefront.
  • Actively engage in the delivery of all business and service improvement plans contributing to the social value of our contract obligations.

What we’re looking for:

  • Level 6 management qualification and management experience or willingness to undertake this qualification within 12 months of commencement in the role.
  • Health & Safety qualification, SMSTS or equivalent.
  • Willingness to undertake a qualification in relation to the compliant management of fire door installation and fire stopping work.
