The Neighbourhood Team Leader role: We have an exciting opportunity to become our Neighbourhood Team Leader! As part of a varied role, you’ll lead a Neighbourhood team to ensure the delivery of a highly visible, proactive estate and tenancy management service ensuring communities and neighbourhoods are desirable, attractive, safe, and sustainable places which they are proud to be part of. You will be providing inspirational leadership ensuring the delivery of a customer focused service combining key elements of Housing Management, Environmental Management, and Community Safety within a partnership environment.

Key duties and responsibilities of our Neighbourhood Team Leader:

  • Ensure the delivery of a highly visible and proactive tenancy and neighbourhood management service, dealing with tenancy conduct and ensuring the provision of assistance and advice with basic repairs and issues of concern to tenants.
  • Contribute to service improvements and standardised procedures for tenancy and neighbourhood management activities in order to maximise service efficiency.
  • Operational responsibility for managing the team’s performance, producing reports, ensuring key performance targets are achieved and practice complies with legislation, policies and procedures.
  • Promote a customer focussed culture within the team, ensuring officers proactively engage with tenants, initiating early intervention and identifying support needs in compliance with legislation, policies, and procedures for safeguarding and antisocial behaviour.
  • Ensure the upkeep of neighbourhoods is satisfactory and develop initiatives and strategies to deal with issues of vandalism, graffiti and fly tipping.
  • Ensure that breaches of tenancy are actioned and appropriately followed up, in line with thresholds, policies and procedures.

What we’re looking for in our Neighbourhood Team Leader:

  • Level 5 Chartered Institute of Housing Level 5 or equivalent level qualification.
  • Ability to provide strong leadership and contribute to a positive working environment.
  • Relevant experience of working in Social Housing, including tenancy and estate management or community safety.
  • Ability to develop performance management systems.
  • Evidence of promoting a continuous learning culture including mentoring and coaching individuals to help them develop their skills and achieve their full potential.
