The Neighbourhood Officer role:

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Neighbourhoodservice as Neighbourhood Officer!

As part of thiskey front-line post, you’ll deliver a proactive practical and visible customerfocused tenancy and estate management service, to make a real difference to ourcustomers and the communities that we manage.

Key duties and responsibilities of our Neighbourhood Officer:

  • Delivera highly visible, proactive tenancy and neighbourhood management service.
  • Todeal with or escape all breaches of tenancy regulations in a timelymanner and in line with thresholds and procedures, including Anti-SocialBehaviour within relevant timescales using support or enforcementinterventions and services as required.
  • Responsiblefor the day-to-day patch based void management of properties and work with partners and teams to ensure properties are let as soon as possible toachieve key performance targets.
  • Providea welcome visit to new tenants within agreed timescales to communicate therequired obligations, offering practical support and advice and signpostwhere needed.
  • Identifycustomer vulnerability including safeguarding concerns by the completionof support checklists, risk assessments and appropriate interventions, atsign up or as soon as potential issues become apparent.
  • Workwith the Lettings Service regarding the assessment of applications to theHousing Waiting List and effective operation of the Lettings Policy, toensure the best use of housing stock and sustainability of local communities.
  • Providelow level support and make appropriate referrals to services withinBerneslai Homes or to external support providers within agreed timescalesunder the direction of the Neighbourhood Team Leader.

What we’re looking for in our Neighbourhood Officer:

  • NVQLevel 3 / BTEC National Certificate or equivalent orrelevant experience / transferable skills .
  • Theability to communicate with residents and colleagues effectively.
  • Experiencein social housing, including estate management and tenancy management orcommunity safety related work.
  • Experienceworking with software applications including Microsoft Office and bespokeIT Systems

  • Willingnessto work flexible hours to meet the needs of the service.
