The Neighbourhood Assistant role:

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Neighbourhood Assistant! This is an exciting opportunity working as part of the Neighbourhood Teams where you’ll be supported as part of your personal growth and development to gain an in-depth knowledge and experience in Neighbourhood Housing Management. You'll be an integral part of the team, providing additional support in delivering a proactive, reassuring, practical, and visible customer-focused estate management service and making a real difference in the communities that we manage.

Key duties and responsibilities of our Neighbourhood Assistant:

  • To assist in the delivery of a highly visible, effective & proactive tenancy & estate management service.
  • To assist Neighbourhood teams in dealing with all breaches of tenancy regulations, including Anti-Social Behaviour within relevant timescales using support or enforcement interventions and services as required.
  • To provide additional support around the day-to-day management of void properties, working with partners and teams to ensure properties are let as soon as possible to achieve key performance targets.
  • Assist in the monitoring of new tenancies and initiate any actions necessary in accordance with procedures.
  • Assist Neighbourhood Teams in identifying vulnerable clients by the completion of support checklists and action plans, either at sign up or whenever support issues become apparent.
  • Support the Lettings Service in assessing applications to the Housing Waiting List and effective operation of the Lettings Policy, to ensure best use of housing stock and sustainability of local communities.

What we’re looking for in our Neighbourhood Assistant:

  • 4 GCSE’s (Grade A-C) or NVQ Level 3 or other equivalent qualification or relevant experience.
  • Demonstrate a positive, flexible approach to team working, be self-motivated and responsive to change.
  • Ability to communicate with residents and colleagues effectively.
  • Ability to provide customer-focused and responsive services.
  • Experience of social housing, including estate management and tenancy management or Community Safety related work.
