THE BIG PICTURE: Bernadette is the digital experience arm of the VCCP Group. We invent, make and iterate digital experiences, tools and products for our clients across all areas of their digital ecosystem. We are 100 strong and are full service including specialists across UX, UI Design and Motion, Technology & Engineering, Content and Comms, Project Management, Data Analysis, Strategy and Ops. All dedicated to creating inclusive, creative, and valuable digital experiences from people and brands. The VCCP Group, which Bernadette is part, is an integrated communications network, that defines itself as the Challenger Agency for Challenger Brands. Set up in 2002 by Charles (V), Rooney (C), Adrian (C) and Ian (P), who founded the agency on the principles of simplicity, collaboration, un-preciousness and integration around ideas rather than channels. Standalone and across the Group, we work with a broad spectrum of clients where we deliver best in class digital results. ABOUT THE ROLE: We’re looking for someone who loves design, the digital landscape and technology alongside a love for making experiences, products and all the things people engage with online. You know UI and how people tap, click, swipe or chat their way through an experience. You are always thinking about Human Centered Design, and Human-Machine Interaction. You embrace AI to be productive, but also know how AI can be part of the experience itself. You celebrate design and digital culture, and help elevate and inspire your colleagues by actively sharing and mentoring more junior members of the team. We’re looking for someone who is hungry to do their best work. A confident designer and a considerate and strong design lead, who can collaborate, inspire, and achieve success with a team. KEY TO THE ROLE: ● Working under the direction of Creative, UX and Design Directors to create great outputs for all manner of digital from responsive sites, apps, games and other interface designs. ● Figma is your tool of choice, you know it and love it and know how to be creative with it – you know when to not worry about auto layout, or your component library. ● You are able to design for people with people. And you’re not shy to test with people. ● Collaborating with the UX and technical teams to incorporate new and emerging technologies, principles and methodologies where needed. ● Being able to work on multiple projects concurrently, as required, without impacting the quality of the deliverable ● Being able to understand briefs, instructions, user journeys and business goals,, highlighting missing information or areas where further clarification is needed or opportunity might be missed. ● Being able to create digital content assets to a required specification (size, duration, supported devices, template, grid, guidelines etc as necessary) ● Working with and collaborating on design systems. ● Appreciate brand, and how to think about brand beyond classic guidelines, and weave brand expression into what you design. ● Keeping up to date and sharing current design trends and industry best practice methods. ● Pro-active communication on project progress ● Willingness to learn and develop skills suitable to make the best work you can. YOU WILL NEED TO: Have a portfolio demonstrating good all round ability in interactive experience design showing user interface and journeys for apps and responsive web design that create beautiful and well thought out masterpieces. As well as content and assets that go with experiences – whether that be digital comms and emails, or product promos, or iconography. Have a strong understanding and appreciation of UX. Have a strong flair of creativity and imaginative expression in how you think and your outputs. Have strong design skills: typography, accessibility, beautiful visual aesthetics and an eye for detail. Understand the value of motion within experience design. Ideally you are able to create these. Have a good working knowledge and passion for Figma, and prototyping and testing tools, ideally you also know Photoshop and Illustrator too. Have a healthy proactive interest and understanding in other areas of interaction design like voice, chatbots, AI and AR. Be a good communicator: written, verbal and graphical Be self-motivated as well as team orientated – you know the value of team and relationships. Have a huge amount of pride and passion for the work that they do Have a flexible approach to managing time and multiple projects effectively Be able to work in a fast paced environment Have tenacity, positivity and focus to find solutions to problems as they arise Have a passion for the web / mobile and anything digital. Be hungry to make your best work. ESSENTIAL SOFTWARE SKILLS: Figma, Prototyping tools, Miro, Google Suite, Photoshop.
