The Bermuda Monetary Authority (BMA) is seeking an experienced individual to lead creative development within the Public Regulatory Affairs and Global Engagement Department. The Assistant Director will set creative direction, establish production standards, and manage AI‑enabled workflows to deliver high‑impact visual, motion, and interactive content across digital platforms.
Responsibilities
- Lead and deliver multimedia creative across static, motion, short‑form video, and lightweight interactive formats, ensuring high craft and brand alignment.
- Define and operationalise AI‑assisted creative workflows (e.g., generative image/video, enhancement, variation, upscaling) to accelerate ideation and production while maintaining quality, originality, and compliance.
- Set creative direction through concepts, storyboards, style frames, and motion studies; establish review rituals that improve outcomes and speed decision‑making.
- Oversee video post‑production standards (editing, colour, sound, captions) and ensure exports are optimised for platform requirements, performance goals and accessibility.
- Build scalable design systems, templates, and modular content frameworks to enable rapid, consistent production across campaigns and regions.
- Work with the Head of PRAaGE, the Senior Advisor and leadership to shape briefs, define success metrics, and present recommendations with clear creative rationale.
- Manage team operations, including intake, prioritisation, resourcing, timelines, and stakeholder communication; ensure predictable delivery across multiple workstreams.
- Establish and enforce accessibility, brand, and channel best practices.
- Oversee AI governance for the creative function, including licensing, attribution, brand safety, privacy/data handling, and risk reviews in partnership with legal and compliance.
- Lead and develop talent through coaching, mentorship, and actionable feedback; set clear performance expectations and drive continuous improvement in craft, accessibility, and measurable outcomes.
- Perform other related work and special projects as assigned by management in accordance with competencies normally associated with the post.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in graphic design and/or visual communication or equivalent qualification(s) from a recognised institution or professional body.
- Minimum of ten (10) years of experience, with at least five (5) years at a senior level in multimedia/graphic design, and a portfolio demonstrating strong visual design and motion/video work across major digital channels.
- Advanced proficiency with industry tools such as Adobe Creative Cloud (e.g., InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects, Premiere Pro) and production‑ready file practices.
- Familiarity with automation and workflow optimisation (e.g., Adobe actions, expressions, lightweight scripting) to scale production and reduce rework.
- Demonstrated experience applying generative AI in professional creative production, including prompt development, output evaluation and workflow integration.
- Strong command of typography, composition, colour, brand systems, and storytelling, with the ability to set direction and uphold quality at scale.
- Proven ability to manage a high‑volume pipeline: prioritise work, negotiate scope, meet deadlines, and drive clarity amid ambiguity.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, including presenting to leaders and aligning cross‑functional teams on creative strategy.
- Experience leading, mentoring, or formally managing designers/creatives, including setting expectations, giving feedback, and improving team performance.
- Creative direction, visual design, and motion design leadership.
- AI‑assisted creative strategy and prompting (e.g., generation, enhancement, variation) with strong taste and quality control.
