High QOF Achievement & Clinical Quality

We have a strong track record of achieving high QOF performance, reflecting consistently good clinical outcomes, effective chronic disease management, and robust governance processes.

You will be joining a friendly, experienced, and supportive multidisciplinary team, including:

• GP Partners and Salaried GPs
• Advanced Nurse Practitioners and Practice Nurses
• Physician's associates
• Clinical Pharmacists and First Contact Practitioners (via PCN)
• A highly capable management and administrative team

Main duties of the job

• Provide high quality general medical care to registered patients, including:
• Face-to-face, telephone, and online consultations
• Diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management of acute and chronic conditions
• Undertake routine and urgent clinical appointments in line with the agreed sessions
• Manage and review clinical correspondence, pathology results, and reports
• Prescribe safely and cost-effectively in accordance with local and national guidelines

On-Call / Duty Doctor Responsibility (Essential Requirement)

Act as the on-call / duty GP for one day per week (or on a rota basis). Responsibilities typically include:

• Managing same-day urgent clinical requests
• Providing clinical advice and supervision to the wider clinical team
• Reviewing and triaging urgent results and clinical messages
• Supporting the safe management of unplanned patient demand

Job responsibilities

• Deliver routine, urgent, and on the day GP consultations face to face, telephone, and digital
• Manage acute and chronic conditions, including prescribing and follow-up
• Participate in duty-on-call GP cover, including management of same day demand and clinical triage (mandatory where specified)
• Review and act on clinical correspondence, pathology results, and clinical tasks
• Maintain accurate clinical records and coding to support quality and QOF outcomes

Quality, Governance & Teamworking

Contribute to QOF achievement, clinical audit, and quality improvement activity. Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, offering advice and support to colleagues. Participate in practice meetings, training, and learning events. Comply with all practice policies, NHS guidance, and governance requirements.

• Engagement in appraisal, revalidation, and continuing professional development (CPD)
• Commitment to professional standards, patient safety, and confidentiality

Person Specification

Qualifications

• Full GMC registration with a licence to practise
• Inclusion on the NHS England GP Performers List
• Commitment to CPD, annual appraisal, and revalidation
• Willingness to comply with all practice policies and procedures.

Experience

• Experience of providing comprehensive general medical services in an NHS setting
• Experience of dealing with vulnerable patients, including those with complex health and social needs
• Experience of managing acute presentations and long-term conditions in primary care
• Experience of contributing to on call-duty GP cover and managing same day demand
• Sound knowledge of NICE guidance, QOF requirements, and NHS clinical governance
• Understanding of safeguarding adults and children and professional responsibilities
• Knowledge of confidentiality, data protection, and information governance requirements

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.

£48,000 a year, 6 clinical sessions, 3 days per week.
