We are recognised for our work in public and private children law and for conducting our own advocacy in court.

We are seeking an ambitious solicitor (around 2 years\' PQE) who enjoys courtroom work, wishes to specialise in children law, and is keen to progress towards Law Society Children Law Panel membership.
This is an exciting opportunity to build a meaningful career in family law within a supportive and respected Legal Aid practice.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of children and family matters generated through our established marketing pipeline.
  • Conduct advocacy where appropriate, including case management hearings, contested applications, and final hearings.
  • Draft applications, statements, and court documents accurately and empathetically.
  • Liaise with clients, guardians, and local authorities to progress cases efficiently.
  • Receive structured mentoring and training towards Children Law Panel accreditation.
  • Contribute to Berkson Family Law\'s continuing reputation for excellence in advocacy and family justice.

About you

  • Qualified solicitor with approximately 2 years\' PQE in family or children law.
  • Experience of Legal Aid work and understanding of the family court process.
  • Confident advocate with strong communication and drafting skills.
  • Empathetic, professional, and able to manage a busy caseload independently.
  • Motivated to progress towards Children Law Panel membership.
  • Committed to providing high-quality representation for children and families.
