An independent energy developer and asset owner is seeking a Grid Compliance & Connections Engineer to support a growing portfolio of distributed and embedded generation projects across the UK. The portfolio is primarily solar‑led and hybrid, operating at distribution level with selective interaction at the transmission interface where required.

The role is responsible for managing connections and ongoing grid compliance across multiple projects, acting as the technical focal point for engagement with DNOs, ICPs and NESO and ensuring assets remain compliant from application through commissioning and into operation. This is a hands‑on role suited to an engineer comfortable operating across G99/G100, connection agreements, technical compliance and operational requirements in a small‑to‑medium IPP environment.

    • Provide technical input into queue management, programme risk and offer acceptance strategy
    • Own compliance against Grid Code, Distribution Code and DNO Engineering Standards
    • Lead and manage G99/G100 processes, including stage reviews, commissioning and close‑out
    • Review and coordinate compliance documentation including:
      • Power system models and compliance reports
    • Coordinate compliance testing, witnessing and handover to operations
    • Act as internal technical authority for grid‑related compliance risk
  • Technical & Project Support
    • Interface with internal development, engineering and construction teams to ensure compliance is designed in early
    • Support due diligence on new projects, including review of connection position, compliance risk and programme assumptions
    • Provide technical support during operational issues, grid events or compliance queries

Degree (or equivalent experience) in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.

Strong working knowledge of UK connections and compliance frameworks at distribution level.

Practical experience with G99, G100, protection systems and commissioning processes.

Ability to interpret connection offers, technical schedules and network constraints.

Experience with embedded generation, export‑limited sites or hybrid configurations.

Technical ownership of connections and compliance across a varied distributed portfolio.
