We are urgently seeking a contract Grid Connections Engineer to support critical project delivery within a high-performing London-based team. This is an ideal opportunity for a technically capable, motivated engineer with UK experience in grid connections who can hit the ground running and take ownership of project connection scopes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end grid connection process—from feasibility through to energisation.
  • Liaise with DNOs, National Grid ESO, and relevant stakeholders to secure and manage grid offers.
  • Evaluate network capacity and constraints through technical and commercial assessments.
  • Interpret and work with connection agreements, technical documentation, and system studies.
  • Provide expert input to development, engineering, and commercial functions.
  • Monitor regulatory changes and grid code updates to identify risks and opportunities.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and project execution through cross-functional collaboration.

Requirements

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or related discipline.
  • Experience in grid connection roles, preferably within the UK energy market.
  • Strong working knowledge of G99 / G100 grid compliance standards is essential.
  • Solid understanding of DNO/NGESO processes and grid connection regulations.
  • Familiarity with power systems tools (e.g., DIgSILENT PowerFactory, IPSA) is a plus.
  • Confident communicator with strong organisational and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Self-driven, detail-oriented, and able to manage competing project priorities.
