The Opportunity

We are seeking a technically astute and driven Grid Connections Engineer to join a high-performing team based in London. This role is ideal for someone with 3–5 years of experience in grid connections who is eager to take ownership of projects and contribute to the delivery of critical energy infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the full lifecycle of grid connections for new energy projects, from feasibility to energisation.
  • Engage with DNOs, National Grid ESO, and other stakeholders to secure and manage grid offers.
  • Conduct technical assessments of grid capacity, network constraints, and connection feasibility.
  • Interpret connection agreements, technical drawings, and power system studies.
  • Provide grid-related input to development, engineering, and commercial teams.
  • Track regulatory changes and grid code updates, advising on risks and opportunities.
  • Support internal strategy and project delivery through technical insight and collaboration.

What You Bring

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in grid connections, ideally within the UK energy sector.
  • Strong understanding of DNO/NGESO processes and UK grid infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with power systems analysis tools (e.g., DIgSILENT PowerFactory, IPSA) is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Highly organised, self-motivated, and capable of managing multiple priorities.
  • A proactive mindset with a passion for clean energy and innovation.
