Role Overview: Representing a leading UK energy storage developer, this 18-month contract is for an Electrical Package Manager to join a dedicated delivery team for a flagship 680MW BESS project. You will be one of three electrical specialists, specifically "owning" an electrical infrastructure package valued at approximately £15m.
Core Responsibilities:
- Client Representation: Act as the single point of focus for your assigned electrical systems, including substations and grid infrastructure up to the 400kV PoC.
- Design Governance: Review and provide technical assurance for design deliverables such as earthing studies, substation layouts, and insulation studies.
- Procurement & Logistics: Oversee factory acceptance testing (FAT), shipping, and site delivery for long-lead equipment.
- Program Management: Review contractor schedules for manufacture, installation, and commissioning to identify and mitigate critical path risks.
- Handover Assurance: Ensure all as-built documentation and O&M manuals are accurate for the transition to operational asset ownership.
Candidate Requirements:
- Essential: Demonstrable experience delivering client-side electrical packages and overseeing long-lead procurement.
- Technical: Mastery of UK Grid Code, G99, and National Grid standards.
- Qualifications: Degree/HND in Electrical Engineering; SMSTS or NEBOSH preferred.
- Safety: Experience with HV/LV isolations and energisation procedures.
