Berkshire Talent Partnership is recruiting a Commercial Manager on behalf of a fast-paced, leading Independent Power Producer (IPP) at the forefront of the UK's energy transition. This is a business with real momentum β a multi-technology pipeline spanning battery storage, pumped hydro, green hydrogen and flexible generation, and some of the biggest and most innovative projects in the UK and Europe currently in development and construction.
The Role
As Commercial Manager, you'll act as commercial and contractual guardian across major flexible generation projects, supporting delivery from design through construction and into operation. You'll be the person who keeps commercial risk visible, contracts watertight, and the supply chain moving in the right direction.
What you'll be doing:
- Producing accurate monthly commercial reports for the board and senior management
- Advising on commercial risk profile and developing risk allocation strategies
- Leading procurement planning and contracting strategy, working with external legal teams on head and subcontract templates
- Leading negotiations with the supply chain across all stages of contract execution
- Owning client accounts, claims and forecasts, and resolving issues as they arise
- Summarising the commercial status of tenders and contracts for management
- Working closely with Project Managers to manage technical, programme and commercial interfaces
- Managing contract integration within CEMAR
What we're looking for:
- Strong contract negotiation experience on high-value, complex projects
- Solid grounding in dispute resolution processes β adjudication, arbitration, mediation and litigation
- Good financial and contractual awareness
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach and the confidence to influence at all levels
- Excellent organisation, planning and reporting skills
- Strong written and verbal communication
- A flexible, adaptable mindset that fits a fast-moving, ambitious culture
This is a genuine opportunity to join a business scaling at pace, with real ownership over the projects you work on and a culture that backs people who take initiative.
