Berkshire Talent Partnership is proud to be working with a respected global engineering consultancy to recruit an Accounts Assistant for their finance team based in Altrincham. This is a well-rounded and steady role, suited to someone with practical accounts experience who is looking to settle into a long-term position. The successful candidate will be supporting core finance functions as well as providing financial data to project teams across the business. Key Responsibilities * Prepare and process project billing and client invoices * Support accounts receivable and credit control activities * Carry out day-to-day accounts payable tasks * Track project costs and provide updates to internal teams * Maintain and update financial models for cost performance monitoring * Assist in preparing weekly and monthly internal finance reports * Help identify any financial risks or discrepancies in cost tracking * Maintain accurate records of contracts and project cost data * Support non-finance colleagues with financial queries * Assist with month-end and year-end tasks, including journal entries and reconciliations * Provide backup support to other members of the UK finance team as needed What We\’re Looking For We’re seeking someone with: * A degree in accounting, finance or business (or equivalent experience) * At least 2–3 years of relevant experience in an accounts role * Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Excel (Office 365) * Experience with invoicing and accounts payable/receivable * Familiarity with balance sheet and P&L reconciliations * SAP experience is desirable but not essential * A careful, methodical approach and good attention to detail * Clear communication skills and the ability to support team members This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a structured finance team, values stability, and is happy to remain in the role for the next few years without seeking rapid progression and as such Study Support is not currently available for this role
