The post will be based in the Achieving for Children (AfC) Early Help Service. The service consists of the Family Hub, Early Help Advisory Service, Public Health Nursing (Health Visiting and School Nursing), wellbeing and behaviour support and early years advice. The role will sit directly in the Family Hub Service and specifically within the Health Visiting (HV) Team.

The Community Nursery Nurse (CNN) role will be to work in collaboration with the Health Visitors to provide the Healthy Child Programme to all children aged 5 years and under residing in the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead (RBWM). These vacancies are arising due to internal promotion and successful candidates will be joining a well established, experienced and high functioning team. Structured training and development will be offered to successful candidates.

Tasks will include:

  • Undertaking developmental health reviews at nine months and two years.
  • Undertaking the 6 to 8 week postnatal review for families within the universal service.
  • Providing support to families within a variety of community settings under the direction of the Health Visitor, taking into account the diverse needs of the community.
  • Providing support that includes behaviour management, parenting skills and delivering programmes of care to vulnerable families as identified by the health visitor.

Requirements:

  • Educated to a level 3 qualification in early years education or equivalent by demonstrable training and experience.
  • Knowledge of the health visiting service.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection, including signs of abuse and approaches to ensure the service is child focused.
  • An understanding of diversity issues.
  • Able to maintain accurate and contemporaneous records.
  • Computer literacy.
