At Warner Hotels, we’re looking for an AWS Dev Ops Engineer to be responsible for the robust administration, security, and scalability of the Warner Hotels AWS environment.
This role sits at the intersection of development and operations, building and maintaining the infrastructure pipelines, automating deployments, and ensuring that our cloud architecture remains cost-effective, performant, and secure.

All short breaks at a Warner Hotel include breakfast, dinner and specified entertainment and activities, ensuring guests make the most of their time away.
Situated in stunning locations nationwide including Heythrop Park in the Cotswolds, Studley Castle in Warwickshire, Thoresby Hall in Nottinghamshire and The Runnymede on Thames, each hotel offers its own personal character that makes every Warner Hotels stay unique.
The Dev Ops Engineer is responsible for proactively managing and scaling the AWS footprint, ensuring high availability for critical hotel-facing applications.
You'll maintain robust monitoring, logging, and alerting frameworks (e. g., Cloud Watch, X-Ray) to achieve target uptime metrics.
As well as managing the lifecycle of AWS resources (Fargate, Lambda, RDS, VPC) using Infrastructure as Code (Ia C) to ensure environment consistency.
- CI/CD & Release Management
- Design and optimize end-to-end CI/CD pipelines to support rapid, reliable, and error-free code deployments.
Automate routine operational tasks and manual infrastructure provisioning to improve development velocity and reduce MTTR (Mean Time to Repair).
- Security & Compliance
- Enforce security-by-design principles, including identity access management (IAM) least-privilege policies, network security groups, and encryption-at-rest.
Perform regular vulnerability scanning and manage automated patching cycles to maintain a secure cloud posture.
Provide technical onboarding and standards guidance for partner teams.
- Cost Optimization & Performance
- Continuously audit cloud usage, utilizing tools like AWS Cost Explorer and Compute Optimizer to eliminate waste and maximize ROI.
Implement auto-scaling strategies and right-sizing policies to align infrastructure costs with actual business demand and transactional volume.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Act as the technical bridge between architecture and development, providing clear documentation for infrastructure standards.
Participate in incident response activities, providing technical root cause analysis (RCA) for infrastructure-related outages.
You will need to have or be
- Expert‑level understanding of AWS core services (specifically Fargate, Lambda, S3, IAM, and Networking).
- Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (e. g., Terraform, AWS CDK, or Cloud Formation).
- Familiarity with scripting languages (Python or Bash) for automation.
- Understanding of containerization (Docker) and orchestration (ECS/EKS)
- Systems Thinker: Ability to visualize and manage complex interdependencies in a cloud-native environment.
- Security‑Minded: A \"security-first\" approach to all architectural and configuration decisions.
- Problem‑Solver: Rapidly diagnoses and resolves infrastructure-related bottlenecks or outages.
- Collaborative: you will need to effectively communicate technical architectural requirements to non-technical stakeholders.
Experience / Education / Qualification
- 3+ years of experience in Dev Ops or Cloud Engineering roles.
- AWS Professional or Associate level certification (e. g., AWS Certified Dev Ops Engineer) preferred.
- Experience working in a production environment managing high-traffic web or enterprise applications.
