Overview
We are seeking an experienced Fire Stopping & Fire Door Engineer to support a growing programme of compliance and remedial works across the UK. This role focuses on remedial actions following Fire Risk Assessments (FRAs) and fire door inspection reports, primarily within occupied residential, care home, and commercial environments.

This is a hands-on, site-based role requiring proven experience in both fire stopping and fire door works. The successful candidate must be competent, reliable, and capable of working independently while maintaining high standards of workmanship and compliance.

This position is offered as a 6-month CIS contract, with the option to extend and the opportunity for full-time employment following the initial contract period, subject to performance and workload.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out fire stopping remedial works in line with FRA recommendations
  • Install, maintain, and remediate fire doors following inspection reports
  • Fit and retrofit intumescent seals, drop-down seals, ironmongery, and closers
  • Undertake door adjustments to achieve compliant gaps and safe operation
  • Carry out minor repairs to door leaves and frames using fire-rated materials
  • Accurately record works completed, including photographic evidence where required
  • Liaise professionally with site staff, residents, and management teams
  • Work across multiple sites, with occasional overnight stays as required

Required Experience & Competence

  • Proven experience in fire stopping and fire door remedial works
  • Strong understanding of FRA-driven remedial actions
  • Experience working in occupied buildings
  • Ability to work methodically, safely, and to a high standard
  • Good understanding of fire door tolerances and fire stopping principles

Desirable Training / Qualifications

  • Fire door installation or maintenance training (BM TRADA, FIRAS, or equivalent)
  • Fire stopping training and experience with certified systems
  • Asbestos awareness (preferred but not essential)

  • Competitive CIS day rate, dependent on experience

Pay: Β£200.00-Β£250.00 per day
