Following a review of the environment and re-structure of In-Patient Services we have an opportunity to recruit a part time (16 hours per week) Band 8A Ligature Minimisation Lead for Prospect Park Hospital, to work directly with our ISS and Prospect Health partners, and the In-Patient clinical Teams to reduce the potential harm to patients due to environmental ligature risks.

Prospect Park Hospital is based in Reading, located close to the amenities of the town centre and a leafy park. Berkshire Healthcare has an Outstanding CQC rating and a culture where everyone has a voice and where service users and staff collaborate to make positive change.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the ligature minimisation process across Berkshire Healthcare.
  • Leading on audit processes and working with teams to develop operational and technical solutions.
  • Collaborate with numerous stakeholders including CQC, NHSE, Clinicians, Compliance & Risk Teams, Estates and Facilities Teams (both PFI and Trust teams) and Divisional Leadership team for all aspects of ligature minimisation.
  • Facilitate the development of the ISS Team in the area of harm minimisation and environment ligature risks.

Requirements (Must haves)
  • Registered Healthcare Professional (e.g. RMN, S/W OT)
  • Previous experience of working within Acute Mental Health In-Patient settings
  • Evidence of ongoing relevant professional development and self-improvement to support patient experience
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to use these both on the ward and in other internal/external forums and situations
  • Previous experience of Teaching or training and working across other professional groups
