This 0.6 WTE locum consultant community paediatric post has arisen in response to staffing changes pending substantive appointment. The post is for a fixed term of 12 months with no renewal or extension. It offers the opportunity to join a welcoming team of community paediatric doctors offering a wide variety of activities and clinics to meet the medical needs of children with a range of vulnerabilities and long-term additional needs. The post supports the current work of the team as well as potential opportunities for exciting service development. We are actively developing co-working opportunities with the local CEW (complications of excess weight) clinic currently hosted by Frimley Health.
The successful candidate will work together with the other consultant community paediatricians as well as non-consultant career grade and resident doctor colleagues to provide community paediatric care for children within Berkshire East.

Person SpecificationExperience- Has achieved the competencies relating to General Paediatric Training, usually after 2 years of General Professional Training in Paediatrics
- Is able to demonstrate having achieved the competencies equivalent to Higher Specialist Paediatric Training including usually 3 years in Community Child Health (usually after 5 years of Higher Specialist Training in total).
- Experience in other areas relevant to Community Child Health e.g. General Practice, Child Mental Health, Public Health, Paediatric Neurology, Paediatric Neurodisability
- Specialist experience in one or more particular areas of Community Child Health practice to take a lead role in that area
