Are you a qualified Speech & Language Therapist looking to progress your clinical skills and professional career in paediatrics? Are you looking for a part time, term time only role that offers flexibility to coincide with your home life?
We have an exciting opportunity for a Band temática SaLT to join our amazing integrated therapy team for 22.5 hours per week, term time only. The role involves:
- Supporting children who attend mainstream schools and specialist resources in Reading and Wokingham
- Planning and managing your own school-age caseload
- Service delivery using an impact-based model of clinical decision making
- Travel to several sites with room for some home working
Our Children and Young People’s Integrated Therapy service is shaped around the needs of the child and family. We are structured within integrated teams (physio, OT, SaLT, integrated therapy assistants and admin) and work closely together to ensure we have the greatest therapeutic impact.
You’ll be part of our welcoming and collaborative team in West Berkshire, and have the support and direction of a Band 7 therapist. There will also be dedicated time and opportunities to shadow therapists in various settings, attend training sessions and develop your knowledge and skills within the wider school age therapy team.

Main duties of the job
- To function as a specialist autonomous clinician, with a role in supporting delivery of the CYPstates model, development of the CYPF (Children and Young People and Families) model and provide support to other more junior CYPIT therapists and non-professional staff.
- To provide high quality assessment and interventions for children and young people with developmental / complex needs in area of specialist expertise, using evidence based/person-centered principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions.
- To provide specialist therapy input into clinical services within a designated area/team, contributing to defined projects as requested by Clinical Leads.

Job responsibilities

Education/Qualifications/Training
- Professional Qualification E.g. Professional knowledge acquired through degree/diploma supplemented by post graduate diploma specialist training, experience, short courses plus further specialist Training
- Able to demonstrate an understanding of the diverse needs of children and young people.

Continuous Professional Development
- Recognised CPD in area of clinical specialism

- Post graduate clinical experience and working knowledge in specialist Paediatric Speech and Language Therapy
Previous Experience
- Minimum 1 years post qualification experience in adults or paediatrics
- Experience of working with families from a wide variety of backgrounds including age and ethnicity
- Experience in managing less senior staff
