Job Opportunity
The Transactional Liability team provides insurance in connection with Mergers & Acquisitions and other transactions, including Warranty and Indemnity Insurance and Tax Insurance. In this role, the W&I Underwriter will collaborate with our Transactional Liability team to execute Warranty and Indemnity Insurance policies across a wide range of industry sectors. Responsibilities will include marketing to and building relationships with insurance brokers and customers; exercising good judgement to assess and analyze risks and offer appropriate indications; managing and evaluating due diligence and negotiating policies.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Review transaction materials to understand target company profiles and provide preliminary terms
- Underwrite M&A transactions and draft W&I policies in an expedient and thoughtful manner, focusing on the diligence process and the scope of the warranties
- Draft and negotiate W&I insurance policies
- Work in a fast-paced environment, multi-task, and make quick decisions while maintaining underwriting integrity
- Maintain awareness of the competitive environment in, and the unique risk profile of, the product line
- Establish, develop and expand broker and customer relationships
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- Prior experience underwriting W&I insurance
- Legal, accounting, tax or M&A background preferred, but not required
- Ability to work within a team in a fast-paced environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Careful attention to detail
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and desire to build industry relationships
