Job Opportunity

The Transactional Liability team provides insurance in connection with Mergers & Acquisitions and other transactions, including Warranty and Indemnity Insurance and Tax Insurance.

In this role, the Associate Underwriter / Underwriter will collaborate with our Transactional Liability team to execute Warranty and Indemnity Insurance policies across a wide range of industry sectors and deal values.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Underwrite M&A transactions with a focus on the London and UK markets.
  • Review transaction materials to assess target company risk profiles and develop preliminary indications of terms.
  • Draft and negotiate W&I policies, endorsements and related underwriting documents.
  • Manage the underwriting process for selected risks, including by engaging and coordinating outside counsel and specialist advisors.
  • Maintain awareness of the competitive environment in, and the unique risk profile of, the product line.
  • Be an active market participant by establishing, developing and expanding broker and customer relationships .
  • Attending industry events and gatherings.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • 1 to 3 years of experience in W&I insurance as an underwriting analyst, underwriter or broker.
  • Legal, economics, accounting or M&A background preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to work within a team in a fast-paced environment, multi-task, and make quick decisions while maintaining underwriting integrity and focusing on underwriting profit.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Careful attention to detail.
  • Great communication skills, both verbal and written, and desire to build industry relationships.
