About Head of Governance Assessment
This role provides a unique opportunity to play a critical role leading Sport England's work to implement A Code for Sports Governance, a landmark document which set high standards of governance for the sector when it was introduced in 2016. Working with Sport England and sector colleagues, you will oversee effective delivery of Code assessment processes in a way which not only achieves compliance but encourages continuous improvement and strong cultures of good governance.
You will take the lead on monitoring and evaluating how the Code is implemented, shaping and delivering any associated processes to ensure key internal and external stakeholders have access to accurate and robust information. Acting as a source of technical expertise on the Code and good governance practices, you will need to build and maintain a wide range of effective relationships internally and externally, for example with Chairs, Boards and CEOs of funded organisations. You may also deputise for the Strategic Lead, Governance on cross-organisational or external projects and initiatives where required.
