We have a vacancy for an Apprentice Groundsperson. The role will involve progressing through the apprenticeship programme whilst learning and experiencing the responsibility to deliver first class results as a member of the ground staff team. Learn how to contribute to the production, maintenance, and coordination of playing surfaces, sports or other recreational facilities to the highest quality standards.
Main Duties:
- Ensuring the Club's playing areas are maintained and presented to the highest possible standards using a range of turfcare machinery, equipment and techniques.
- All aspects of ground preparation including deployment of rain covers, mowing, marking out, erection and dismantling of practice nets and operating various machinery.
- Routine maintenance of turfcare machinery.
- Maintaining health and safety standards and complying with Club policies and procedures.
- All other duties in line with grounds preparation.
- Maintenance of tools and equipment such as mowers, aerators and other specialist turfcare equipment.
- Work safely, efficiently and effectively at all times, under supervision, as an individual or as part of the team.
Apprenticeship & Training:
- To undertake and complete all elements of the apprenticeship programme.
- To attend all off the job training as organised with the training provider.
- To attend all in house and on the job training as required.
- To participate in any additional activities identified in the workplace to complement the apprenticeship programme.
- Training will be provided in the workplace towards a Countryside Worker Level 2 Apprenticeship.
