Senior Delivery Driver

Are you an experienced Multi-Drop Delivery Driver who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in delivering exceptional customer service? We are looking for a proactive and hands-on Senior Delivery Driver to join our Transport team. This is a key customer-facing role where you will not only complete deliveries but also support and coordinate our drivers, ensuring the highest standards of service are maintained.

About the role

Working closely with the Transport Operations Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring deliveries are completed safely, accurately and on time, while supporting the day-to-day performance of the driver team.

What you’ll be responsible for:

• Completing multi-drop deliveries safely, efficiently, and on time.
• Supporting and managing drivers and agency drivers, including monitoring punctuality, performance, and completion of required tasks.
• Reviewing delivery plans and loading sequences to ensure customer requirements are met.
• Acting as a key point of contact between drivers, customers, Transport Planning, and LCB to resolve operational issues quickly.
• Building strong relationships with customers and Sales Account Managers while delivering an exceptional level of service.
• Ensuring vehicles, uniforms, and delivery standards are maintained to a high standard.
• Completing all required vehicle checks, paperwork, and collection/return processes.
• Supporting route planning and identifying opportunities to improve operational efficiency.
• Providing daily updates and handovers to the Transport Manager, including any operational issues.
• Supporting health and safety compliance across the delivery operation.
• Completing an additional shorter delivery route once the main driver team has departed, where required.
• Working flexibly to support the needs of the operation.

What we’re looking for:

• Proven experience as a multi-drop delivery driver.
• Experience of supervising or managing people, or the willingness to develop these skills.
• A full UK drivers licence with no more than six points.
• Strong knowledge of the London and South East road networks and experience delivering into the service industry is vital.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• A proactive, solution-focused approach with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
• Good understanding of health and safety within a delivery operation.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• A flexible, hands-on approach and willingness to go the extra mile.
• The ability to carry wine cases weighing an average of 15kg.
• CPC licence is desirable but not essential.

Working pattern: 40 hours per week, 5.30am – 2.30pm Monday to Friday, with a 1-hour unpaid break. Overtime may occasionally be required but is not guaranteed. There may also be a requirement to work the occasional bank holiday.
