Who We Are

At Spirit Cartel, we do not just sell spirits - we live and breathe them. We scour the globe for the best, boldest, and most exciting brands, then bring them to our customers. We are on an ambitious journey and looking for an experienced National Account Manager to help us shake up the retail sector.

The Role

This position is all about expanding our footprint in the off-trade retail market. You will be the driving force behind growing our premium spirits portfolio in major retail chains and groups, brokers, spirit specialists, grocers and e-commerce platforms.

We are after someone with solid off-trade experience, existing industry relationships, and a deep understanding of commercial strategy. You will be responsible for securing listings, increasing distribution, and building long-term, profitable relationships - all while keeping a close eye on market trends and emerging opportunities.

Since this role covers a wide geographic area, you will need to be a master of virtual relationship building by using video calls, phone conversations, and email to develop strong partnerships, rather than frequent face-to-face meetings. However, travel to offsite meetings as well as our offices will also be necessary.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Driving sales and growth – Securing new listings, expanding distribution and smashing your sales targets.
  • Strategic account management – Building business plans, managing costs and maximising profit.
  • Commercial execution – Negotiating and delivering commercial agreements with key retail players.
  • Market intelligence – Staying ahead of trends and identifying opportunities for expansion.
  • Retail activation – Delivering brand training, promotional activities and in-store activations.

What We Are Looking For

  • Proven off-trade experience – A solid background in selling spirits or drinks to the retail sector.
  • Commercially savvy – A strong grasp of retail margins, ROI, and sales figures.
  • Industry knowledge – A deep passion for spirits, including production methods and market trends.
  • A self-starter – Thrives on autonomy and developing strategic business plans.
  • Exceptional communicator – Confident, persuasive, and able to build relationships remotely.
  • Existing industry contacts – Already well-connected in the retail drinks sector.
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel – While the role is mostly remote, travel (including overnight stays) will be required.
  • Bonus skills – Brand training experience and cocktail knowledge are a plus!

Working Pattern

This role is 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday (09:00 – 17:30pm) but the individual must be flexible according to event and business needs. Some evening and weekend work may be required.

What Is in It for You?

  • Competitive Salary - up to £55,000 per annum, depending on experience.
  • Performance Bonus – up to 10% based on agreed KPIs.
  • Generous Holiday Package – 25 days annual leave (rising with service) + bank holidays.
  • Health & Wellbeing – Dental contributions & access to an Employee Assistance Programme.
  • Company Car
  • Enhanced maternity and paternity pay
  • Discount on selected products.
