We’re looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Cook to join this friendly school community when it reopens after the summer holiday. This is a role with a chance to make a real difference in the lives of our students through healthy, tasty food.

We’re looking for a positive team player with a can-do attitude and a commitment to high standards of hygiene and food safety. If you’re ready to bring your culinary flair to a place where you’ll be appreciated and encouraged to grow, we’d love to hear from you!

In this role, you will be responsible for cooking within the school as well as menu planning, shopping and adhering to set budgets to deliver healthy, varied and nutritious meals for young people and staff. In addition, you will be responsible for ensuring that the kitchen and serving areas are kept to a high standard of hygiene, including food and equipment storage.

You will ideally have a Level 3 Award in Supervising Food Safety in Catering and a valid food hygiene certificate, although training can be provided if needed.

Hours are Monday to Friday, 7.30am until 3.30pm, term time, £18.00ph

As the school’s Cook you will be required to:

  • Plan, prepare, and cook fresh well-balanced meals for pupils and staff, considering their specific dietary requirements and preferences
  • Collaborate with special education staff to develop interesting and varied menus that accommodate individual dietary restrictions and sensory needs
  • Ensure that all meals are prepared and served in accordance with food safety regulations and best practices
  • Maintain stock levels
  • Maintain accurate records in accordance with health & safety policies
  • Foster a positive dining experience for pupils by creating a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere during mealtimes

This is primarily a temporary assignment but with a high possibility of it developing into a permanent role for the right candidate.
