About the Role:
We are currently seeking a reliable, practical, and proactive Caretaker to support our client’s school in the Filton area. This is a great opportunity for someone who takes pride in maintaining a safe, clean, and well-functioning environment for staff and pupils alike.
As this role is based within a school, an Enhanced DBS is required. If you don’t currently hold one, we can help you apply for one (£61), or provide information to apply independently.
Key Responsibilities:
Opening and locking up the school buildings, ensuring site security
Carrying out basic maintenance and repairs (e.g., changing lightbulbs, fixing locks, painting)
Checking and reporting any health & safety hazards
Assisting with school deliveries and moving furniture/equipment as needed
Maintaining cleanliness of external areas, including litter picking and gritting during icy weather
Supporting contractors on-site and liaising with school management regarding repairs
Setting up rooms or areas for school events or meetings
A current Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply for one)
Previous caretaking, maintenance, or facilities experience (preferably in a school or similar setting)
Basic knowledge of health & safety procedures
Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling tasks
Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently with minimal supervision
A flexible attitude and willingness to support school operations as needed
