We're looking for a hands-on, commercially focused Area Store Manager to join a fast-paced grab & go retail business operating across multiple sites in the City of London.
The Role
- Reporting directly to the Head of Operations, the Area Store Manager will take responsibility for a number of City of London sites, leading diverse teams across each location and ensuring consistency, performance and operational excellence.
- The successful Area Store Manager will be comfortable rolling up their sleeves during service, supporting their teams and managing the demands of a busy trading environment while also managing their time effectively to stay on top of administration, planning and commercial responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and support multiple grab & go retail sites across the City of London.
- Lead, coach and develop diverse teams across each location.
- Be highly visible and hands-on during service, leading from the front.
- Ensure excellent customer service and consistently high operational standards.
- Manage rotas, staffing, training and team performance.
- Monitor sales, KPIs and operational performance, using data and analytics to drive improvements.
- Maintain exceptional standards of organisation and attention to detail.
- Oversee logistics, stock management and day-to-day operational requirements.
- Ensure all sites consistently meet food safety, health & safety and compliance standards.
- Identify operational issues quickly and implement effective solutions.
- Balance time effectively between being on the floor and completing essential administration.
- Work closely with the Head of Operations to deliver business and operational objectives.
What We're Looking For
- You'll ideally be an experienced Store Manager with at least 1 year of management experience, preferably within food retail, grab & go, hospitality, QSR or a similarly fast-paced environment.
- Takes a genuinely hands-on approach.
- Is confident managing multiple priorities in a high-volume environment.
- Has strong leadership and people-management skills with senior operators.
- Is highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
- Understands logistics and operational planning.
- Is comfortable working with numbers, KPIs and analytics.
- Has a strong understanding of food safety and health & safety.
- Can manage their time effectively between service and administration.
- Leads by example and enjoys developing their teams.
- Is commercially aware and motivated by performance.
- Can work at pace without compromising standards.
