Berkeley Scott are recruiting Kitchen Porters / Kitchen Assistants / Catering Assistants to work at multiple sites across Edinburgh. Our opportunities will include work at events, stadiums, hotels, schools and offices. If you have previous experience as a Kitchen Porter, Kitchen Assistant or Catering Assistant, we would love to hear from you!

Responsibilities

  • Working in busy production kitchens
  • Assisting with basic food preparation and service
  • Assisting with the clear down and closure of the kitchen
  • Use of large and small dishwashers as well as washing by hand where required
  • Maintaining the overall cleanliness of the kitchens and undertaking roles as requested to do so by their Head Chef

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Food Safety Qualification or the desire to undertake this qualification
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and sometimes challenging environment
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Good team player as well as ability to work on own initiative
  • Take pride in your work

Candidates who already hold a current DBS Check or Disclosure Scotland PVG membership are highly desirable; however, if an existing certificate or membership requires updating, we can arrange this for the successful candidate. Pay rates are dependent on experience and/or the client site.
