What You Will Be Doing
As a Kitchen Assistant, your duties will include:
- Assisting with food preparation and serving
- Supporting the kitchen team with daily catering duties
- Preparing ingredients and food items as required
- Washing up and cleaning kitchen equipment and work areas
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene
- Assisting with school meal service
- Following food safety, health and safety procedures
- Ensuring food is stored, prepared and handled safely
- Working effectively as part of the wider catering team
Requirements
To be considered for this Kitchen Assistant role, you will need:
- Previous experience in a kitchen, catering or food service environment is desirable
- Enhanced DBS – required
- 2 references – required
- Food Safety Level 2 Certificate – required or willingness to obtain
- Food Allergen Certificate – required or willingness to obtain
- Good understanding of food hygiene and safe food handling
- Excellent reliability and timekeeping
- A positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team
- Ability to work efficiently in a busy school environment
- Professional and responsible approach when working within a school
