Senior Buyer Aberdeen Paying £50-£60k base plus additional benefits About Our Client: Our client is a leading provider of enabling technologies for industrial growth markets that demand advanced solutions and high reliability. Operating across industries such as aerospace, defense, environmental monitoring, factory automation, and oceanographic research, they pride themselves on innovation and impact-driven results. They are seeking an experienced Senior Buyer to join their dynamic team. This key role will support the business by ensuring effective procurement of supplies and materials, collaborating with vendors, and contributing to the seamless operation of their manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities: * Develop and maintain a framework of qualified vendors to support material, facility, and business needs. * Evaluate costs, quality, and suitability of supplies, materials, and equipment. * Process requisitions and prepare bid specifications for purchases. * Collaborate with internal departments to determine purchasing needs and specifications. * Maintain material availability data and coordinate with the Production Manager for accurate production planning. * Input and manage data in the ERP system to align with business requirements. * Provide sales teams with accurate material cost and delivery estimates to support bids and tenders. * Monitor order progress to ensure timely delivery and expedite when necessary. * Reconcile invoices and resolve invoice queries promptly. * Assist with internal and external audits as required. * Undertake special projects or duties as requested by senior management. Qualifications & Experience: * Proven experience in procurement within a manufacturing environment. * Background in mechanical or electrical engineering is advantageous. * Familiarity with office procedures and computerised order management systems. * Strong written and verbal communication skills. * Organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to meet tight deadlines under pressure. * A-Level standard education; CIPS qualification is a plus but not essential.
