BRG experts provide sophisticated economic, financial, and analytical advice across a wide range of disciplines, including antitrust and competition policy, complex damages, construction, finance, healthcare, intellectual property, restructuring, valuation, and workforce issues. In addition, the firm assists clients in major industry sectors with compliance, business process improvement, and strategy consulting.

Due to impressive practice growth, we are looking for highly motivated problem solvers to join our team. The day-to-day work of a Managing Consultant involves both delivery and oversight of engagement work streams. These may be either qualitative or quantitative in nature, and responsibilities include:

  • Training and management of junior staff
  • Design of statistical and financial analysis
  • Modeling of financial data and markets
  • Quality control
  • Development and presentation of client deliverables to a high standard, including drafting and reviewing expert reports for BRG’s expert witnesses
  • Management of existing client relationships
  • Industry research that is well considered and accurate
  • Contributing to the expansion of BRG’s business

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and manage all aspects of small to medium sized client engagements and discreet segments of larger projects
  • Delegate assignments to staff, instruct and monitor progress, and review work product for completeness and accuracy
  • Develop analyses and financial models using transactional data and/or financial data
  • Generate client deliverables and make valuable contributions to expert reports
  • Manage client relationships and communicate results and work product as appropriate
  • Demonstrate creativity and efficient use of relevant software tools, analytical methods and computer models to develop solutions
  • Participate in group practice meetings, contribute to business development initiatives and office functions such as staff training and recruiting
  • Prioritise assignments and responsibilities in order to meet goals and deadlines

Qualifications:

  • A degree (e.g., BS, BBA, MBA, M.A., M.S., LLB, etc.) with a focus on economics or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of work experience in an environment involving competition/anti-trust disputes and/or complex/technical analysis
  • Experience using data analytics tools such as MS Excel and relational database program(s) (e.g., SAS, SPSS, Stata, MS SQL Server, MS Access, Bloomberg, Capital IQ)
  • A desire to expand capabilities in databases/tools is required, as is the ability to train others to use such tools
  • Experience in dispute analysis and management or litigation support
  • Preferably experience in construction or financial disputes and knowledge of types of issues that arise in such disputes (but not essential)
  • Competent, critical and analytical thinker
  • Desire and ability to manage processes within the firm and train juniors and/or other consultants
  • Commitment to producing high quality analysis, that is presented in a logical and coherent way, and attention to detail despite high workloads on occasion
  • Keen interest in economic or financial analysis and research
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to articulate ideas and concepts well orally and produce persuasive written work
  • Desire to work within a team environment, but also the ability to work effectively independently
  • Self-motivated
  • Commitment to get involved with social activities that the firm facilitates or provides and with professional networking organisations and participate in events that those organisations put on for its members
