We're recruiting an Assistant Site Manager for our development in Wallingford – Winterbrook Meadows | New Build Homes Wallingford | Berkeley. This multi‑phase development comprises a collection of high‑quality new‑build homes in Wallingford, including 3–4 bedroom houses and contemporary 1–2 bedroom apartments, delivered within a thoughtfully planned community. Winterbrook Meadows is creating a vibrant residential neighbourhood that blends village character with modern living, offering energy‑efficient homes set amongst landscaped green spaces and pedestrian‑friendly pathways, with excellent connections to Oxford, Reading and London.

What you'll be doing:

  • Support the coordination and delivery of all internal works from second fix through to completion and handover, ensuring efficient sequencing of trades.
  • Work closely with the Senior Site Team, consultants and subcontractors to maintain programme and resolve on‑site challenges.
  • Monitor progress of second fix activities, identifying and escalating risks to minimise delays and ensure timely delivery.
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with the Senior Site Team, providing regular updates on progress and issues.
  • Build strong working relationships with subcontractors and stakeholders to support a collaborative and productive site environment.
  • Promote a positive, professional culture in line with Berkeley Group values and ways of working.
  • Drive a strong Health & Safety culture on site, ensuring full compliance with legislation, company policies and best practice.
  • Ensure all works meet statutory requirements, Berkeley standards and site processes.
  • Monitor quality of finishes and workmanship, ensuring defects are identified and resolved promptly.
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date digital quality records and documentation using Fieldview EDMS.
  • Support the delivery of high customer satisfaction, contributing to strong IHR scores and overall customer experience.
  • Assist in achieving targets for Net Promoter Score and 'Ready' and 'Clean' measures.
  • Ensure completed plots and site presentation are maintained to a high standard, supporting Sales and Marketing and reflecting the Berkeley brand.

What you'll bring:

  • Demonstrable experience within residential construction or property development environments.
  • Proven ability to manage packages, phases or blocks on fast‑paced or complex developments.
  • Hands‑on experience overseeing internal works from second fix through to completion and handover.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to support and motivate site teams and subcontractors.
  • Well‑organised with the ability to manage competing priorities and programme pressures effectively.
  • Collaborative approach, with experience working cross‑functionally alongside technical, health & safety, commercial and wider site teams.
