The predicted salary is between 40000 - 50000 Β£ per year.
Responsible for procurement of construction materials and plant for regional sites. Ensuring that quality materials are obtained in a timely fashion and achieving best value.
Responsibilities:
- Sending out enquiries from drawing issues and monitoring of Procurement Schedules to meet dates required.
- Chasing of quotes from enquiries out to ensure dates met.
- Placing of orders and chasing of drawings/schedules for issue to technical for approval.
- Production of materials based budgets for relevant site/phase (element of sub-contract with window/door/curtain walling and structural steelwork).
- Produce quote comparisons and tender review documents on large orders for sign off.
- Produce sub-contract documents for sign off and to allow issue of Call off Contract/PSI (Project Specific Instruction) - Note only for sub-contract elements listed above.
- Monthly issue of cost reports for consultation with Commercial Director.
- Taking off of materials for enquiries out/order placing.
- Resolving of invoice queries relevant to buyer role/site.
- Attendance to sites within own buying responsibility, for Production/Project meetings on a weekly/fortnightly basis.
- Ensure close out of issues, relevant information/achieved actions from meetings.
- Meeting suppliers on site/in office for problem solving/supply issues/product issues.
- Develop material reviews for value engineering.
- Close liaison with Technical Department to ensure materials specification and approvals.
Experience required:
- Technical Competencies: Construction supply chain or property experience preferred.
- Ability to work on own initiative and generate solutions.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings desirable.
- Highly IT literate, including advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
