The Finance Manager is a senior, commercially focused role reporting to the Head of Finance. The position supports the financial planning, control and delivery of multiple development projects, providing insight, challenge and guidance to support business decisions. This role involves a high level of ownership, accountability and collaboration across project teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver financial appraisals to support development and business planning
  • Provide insight, scenario analysis and recommendations to inform decision‑making
  • Identify financial risks and opportunities and support mitigation planning
  • Maintain accurate profit, cashflow and development forecasts
  • Ensure financial systems and data are accurate, complete and up to date
  • Support reporting requirements and clearly communicate financial performance
  • Ensure robust financial controls, governance and reporting accuracy
  • Manage balance sheet, profit and cashflow control areas
  • Support compliance with relevant tax requirements (e.g. VAT, CIS, SDLT)
  • Contribute to audits and regulatory reporting
  • Collaborate with project, commercial and operational teams
  • Communicate financial information clearly to a range of stakeholders
  • Provide timely responses to queries and support decision‑making
  • Support and mentor colleagues within the finance team
  • Contribute to improving processes, systems and reporting standards
  • Take ownership of workstreams and deliver high‑quality outputs to deadlines

What you'll bring

Skills & Experience

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent), with relevant experience
  • Strong experience in financial reporting, forecasting and controls
  • Ability to interpret financial data and support commercial decision‑making
  • Experience with finance systems, data accuracy and governance
  • Knowledge of tax compliance (desirable)
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
