As Development Surveyor, you will take ownership of the commercial management of Wandsworth Mills, an iconic development in Wandsworth, ensuring cost certainty, value optimisation and strong supply chain performance throughout the lifecycle. You’ll work closely with Technical, Construction and Sales teams, providing expert commercial advice and driving best-in-class delivery aligned to Berkeley’s standards.
- Commercial Management & Reporting
- Lead the preparation, management and reporting of project budgets, ensuring accuracy and alignment with business objectives
- Monitor cost performance, including forecasting, variance analysis and cost benchmarking
- Produce monthly commercial reports, identifying risks, opportunities and key drivers
- Procurement & Supply Chain
- Manage the procurement of main and trade contractors, ensuring best value, quality and programme alignment
- Develop detailed work packages, scopes and tender documentation in collaboration with project teams
- Undertake tender analysis, negotiations and contract placement in line with Group governance
- Contract & Financial Control
- Administer and manage construction contracts, ensuring compliance with contractual and financial procedures
- Oversee valuations, payments, variations and contractual notices in a timely manner
- Proactively manage subcontractor accounts to maximise commercial outcomes and mitigate risk
- Project Delivery & Collaboration
- Work closely with Construction teams to manage site instructions and financial implications
- Partner with Technical teams to assess, price and agree design and technical variations
- Support Sales teams with accurate and timely costing of purchaser variations
- Value Engineering & Risk Management
- Contribute commercially to design development, buildability reviews and value engineering exercises
- Identify financial risks and opportunities, taking proactive action to protect project performance
- Governance & Standards
- Ensure all activities align with Berkeley’s policies, procedures and delegated authority levels
- Champion health & safety, sustainability, quality and customer care across all aspects of delivery
- Maintain accurate project records and documentation in line with TQM standards
What you'll bring:
