The role involves management of the M&E installations on site to meet the programmed ORPC and working programme dates. The Senior M&E Manager will provide specific and detailed knowledge of specialist installations throughout all stages of the project, from design and planning to construction, commissioning, and handover.
Responsibilities:- Ensure that systems are installed correctly, to a high standard, and are fully compliant with all British Standards and regulations.
- Provide specialist advice to other members of the production team when necessary.
- Manage the M&E contractors and subcontractors, report daily on their performance and labour levels, and identify any shortfalls.
- Identify any lack of information early and achieve resolution.
- Have a clear understanding of the construction process and the sequencing of all trades.
- Ensure that all works are constructed to the highest standard of quality and to St George requirements.
- Pay attention to detail and assess the quality of work at all stages of construction.
- Inspect all works as they proceed and record them using specific St George quality stage checklists.
- Attend training sessions for staff on site.
- Ensure compliance with relevant product information, building regulations, and changes in specific M&E installations.
- Ensure effective coordination of the M&E installation with the rest of the building.
- Mechanical: Knowledge of residential mechanical services including SVP, RWP, hot and cold water systems, mechanical ventilation, air conditioning, gas installations, and district heating.
- Electrical: Knowledge of residential electrical systems including HV substations, LV distribution systems, apartment wiring installations, and AV systems.
- Drywall: Good working understanding of drywall systems and their interaction with M&E installations.
- Ensure all building operations are carried out safely and in accordance with relevant regulations.
- Ensure contractors provide Risk Assessments and comply with them on site.
- Provide specialist M&E knowledge and advice to the Health and Safety team.
- Manage specific M&E Health and Safety risks on site.
- Maintain site presentation to St George standards to maximise sales potential.
- Inspect the site daily and remedy matters within an agreed timescale.
- Demonstrated experience managing technical processes and procedures.
- Good working knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.
- Experience coordinating and providing technical guidance to developments.
- Knowledge of contract management and utility companies.
- Strong knowledge of temporary services management on live construction sites.
- CSCS Card.
- SMSTS.
