We're recruiting a Site Manager for our development in Reading - Reading Riverworks | New Build Homes | Riverside Apartments. The development comprises over 200 contemporary homes, delivered across two phases, with construction expected to continue through to 2028. Inspired by the site’s industrial heritage, the scheme is creating a new riverside neighbourhood that connects the River Thames with Reading station and the town centre.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Coordinate and manage subcontractors and site teams across all internal works packages from first fix through to handover.
  • Work closely with the management team, consultants and subcontractors to ensure the effective delivery of the construction programme.
  • Ensure works are delivered in line with programme schedules, proactively identifying, mitigating and escalating risks where necessary.
  • Provide regular progress updates to senior management and maintain clear communication with all stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with contract surveyors, subcontractors and project stakeholders to support successful project delivery.
  • Promote a collaborative and professional working culture aligned with Berkeley Group values and expectations.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of Health & Safety legislation, company procedures and best practices, promoting a safe working environment across site operations.
  • Ensure all internal works are compliant with statutory requirements, company standards and site procedures.
  • Lead on quality management by applying Berkeley Group standards, inspection processes and management tools to consistently achieve high-quality outcomes.
  • Monitor workmanship standards and proactively address defects or quality concerns.
  • Maintain accurate digital quality records and project documentation using Fieldview EDMS.
  • Drive customer satisfaction by motivating teams to achieve over 70% Net Promoter Score (NPS) and 90% or above on the ‘Ready’ and ‘Clean’ categories within In House Research surveys.
  • Support the Sales and Marketing teams by ensuring site presentation and completed units are maintained to the highest standard, reflecting the Berkeley brand.

What you'll bring:

  • Significant experience within residential construction or property development.
  • Proven ability managing large packages, phases or blocks on complex developments.
  • Experience leading internal works from first fix to handover.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate site teams and subcontractors.
  • Excellent organisational capability and the ability to manage programme pressures.
  • A collaborative approach working with technical, health and safety, commercial and project teams.

Group life assurance. The standard default full-time working hours are 7:30am-4:30pm with core working hours 9am-4pm. Site based roles may have slightly different hours, these will be discussed at briefing/interview.
