We are working with a highly regarded global long-only investment manager to source an Equity Analyst to support Senior Analysts and Portfolio Managers. Based in their London office, the successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality investment research and maintaining deep insight into portfolio companies and opportunities with a focus on the financials sector. The firm has a long-standing reputation for delivering top quartile returns and is widely seen as one of the best in their peer group.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supports Senior Analysts and Portfolio Managers through industry and security research, idea generation, stock screening, comp sheets, and alternative data analysis.
  • Designs and iterates AI-enabled research workflows, including prompt libraries, retrieval systems, and automation tools, to improve research efficiency and free up time for investment judgment and synthesis.
  • Builds and maintains financial models, develops forecasting assumptions, and evaluates companies using DCF, ratio analysis, and other valuation methodologies.
  • Participates in earnings calls and company meetings, synthesising information to support investment decisions.
  • Produces written company and industry research and contributes to investment presentations.

Requirements

  • Around 2-4 years’ experience in buy or sell-side equity research, investment banking or private equity (we would be very interested in candidates from FIG IB).
  • Experience of covering the financials sector (ideally banks).
  • Strong financial modelling, accounting, and valuation skills, with a desire to produce deep dive research.
  • Demonstrated interest in equity markets and value investing.
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills.
  • Experience with data platforms (e.g. Bloomberg, FactSet).
  • Progress towards CFA is advantageous but not a pre-requisite.
  • Proactive, intellectually curious, and interested in AI-driven research tools.
  • Already based in London/UK.
