Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role based in London. The Business Development Manager will identify, develop and manage new business opportunities across bridging loans, short-term property finance, development finance and refinancing solutions.

Responsibilities include:

  • Prospecting and qualifying leads.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with brokers, property investors, and corporate clients.
  • Presenting tailored funding solutions that align with client needs.
  • Preparing proposals and coordinating with underwriting and operations teams to ensure timely approvals.
  • Monitoring the progress of deals through to completion.
  • Tracking performance against targets and analysing market trends and competitor activity.
  • Contributing to strategic initiatives to grow Berkeley Credit’s presence in the UK and international markets.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in business development, sales or relationship management within financial services, ideally in bridging finance, commercial lending, or property finance.
  • Strong client-facing skills, including the ability to build long-term relationships with brokers, investors, and business owners and to manage a diversified prospect pipeline.
  • Solid understanding of property finance structures, credit risk considerations and lending processes, with the ability to explain complex funding solutions clearly.
  • Strong negotiation, presentation and communication skills, with confidence in leading client meetings and representing the company at events or networking opportunities.
  • Analytical and commercially minded approach, with the ability to assess deals, interpret financial information and make data-informed recommendations.
  • Highly organized and self-directed, with the ability to prioritize multiple opportunities, meet deadlines and work effectively in a fast-paced deal environment.
  • Comfort using CRM systems and standard office software to manage pipelines, reporting and client communication; familiarity with sales performance metrics is beneficial.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience; relevant industry certifications are a plus.
  • Knowledge of the UK property market and experience working with UK and international investors is advantageous.
