Wellbeing Lead for an independent, brand-new Care Home in Surrey. Are you a creative, energetic and compassionate individual who believes later life should be full of joy, connection and purpose? We're looking for an experienced Wellbeing Lead to help launch a brand-new purpose-built 32-bedroom home in Godalming, Surrey. A home where every resident is valued, and given the chance to live life to the full.

You’ll have real ownership of how our residents spend their days: leading the planning and delivery of meaningful activities and wellbeing programmes that enhance residents’ physical, emotional, cognitive and social wellbeing. You will play a key role in supporting the transition of our existing residents into the new home, helping them feel safe, engaged and at home from the first day.

Key responsibilities:
  • Conduct resident assessments to identify interests, life history and wellbeing goals and develop personalised wellbeing plans.
  • Design and deliver a varied programme of daily, weekly and monthly meaningful activities tailored to individual interests, abilities and needs.
  • Plan and develop themed events, seasonal celebrations and special occasions, including decorating the home and liaising with the catering department.
  • Coordinate our therapy room — supporting residents with hair, nails and pamper sessions that promote confidence and self-care.
  • Build strong relationships with families and the local community.
  • Organise and risk assess outings and trips such as shopping, cafes, garden centres and community events.
  • Lead and supervise a small activities team, including rotas, observations and day-to-day coordination.
  • Maintain accurate records of activities, participation and resident feedback.
  • Evaluate and audit the effectiveness of activities and continuously improve the programme.
  • Effectively manage the activity equipment and financial resources.
What we’re looking for:
  • A compassionate, proactive, energetic and creative person with genuine enthusiasm for improving the quality of life for older people.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills and the confidence to plan and deliver engaging events.
  • Experience in leading activities coordination or wellbeing in a care home or similar environment.
  • Some experience of supervising or leading a small team, or a clear readiness to do so.
  • Knowledge of dementia care, awareness of safeguarding and professional boundaries.
  • Basic IT skills for planning and documentation.

Working hours: Minimum 30 hours per week over 4 to 5 days. Competitive salary: £16 to £16.50 per hour, dependent on experience. This will be reviewed with the growth of the home. Free parking, uniform provided, free meals on shift, Employee Assistance Programme covering health, wellbeing and financial support. A genuinely supportive, close team environment with real scope to bring your own ideas and creativity to the role.

If you are passionate about enriching the lives of older people and would like to be part of an exciting new chapter for Robertson Nursing Home, we would love to hear from you. Apply now to become our Wellbeing Lead. Robertson Nursing Home is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of our residents. The successful candidate will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
