Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 35 hour week (Flexitime)

About the Team

You'll be joining the Business Management team within the Music, Media & Entertainment pod, a group of 5 that sits within a wider team of 17. The pod is part of our largest Service Line, ABS (Accounts & Business Services).

Your Opportunity

The Manager leads the delivery of Business Management services for a portfolio of music‐industry clients, ensuring compliance with standards and statutory requirements. As portfolio lead, the Manager provides tailored financial, operational, and strategic support to artists, talent and music businesses while maintaining the highest service standards.

How You'll Make a Difference

  • Technical
    • Ensure accuracy and completeness across all client outputs.
    • Review tour accounts, VAT returns and year‐end files.
    • Provide technical guidance on complex accounting or compliance matters.
    • Advise clients within scope and flag when specialist input is needed, including liaison with royalty consultants and non‐UK tax specialists.
    • Lead adoption and correct use of systems and tools across the team.
    • Review workflows and reporting to improve efficiency and data accuracy.
    • Manage and review data work in Karbon, ensuring reliability and up‐to‐date information.
    • Identify process gaps and drive systems improvements.
    • Oversee pod‐level metrics and understand key financial indicators.
    • Own personal CPD compliance and professional development.
    • Engage in internal and external learning to strengthen leadership and technical skills.
    • Seek and apply feedback to grow in role.
    • Monitor CPD progress within the pod to ensure compliance.
  • Quality
    • Drive high standards and timely delivery across the pod's client portfolio.
    • Use coaching and review points to improve output quality.
    • Plan ahead for peak periods and ensure realistic timelines and resourcing.
    • Delegate effectively across the team based on skills and capacity.
    • Manage complex or sensitive client work personally.
    • Track key deliverables and intervene early to remove blockers.
    • Balance direct delivery with oversight and team enablement.

    • Communicate clearly and confidently with clients and internal stakeholders.
    • Deliver feedback constructively in both structured and informal settings.
    • Lead team meetings and share updates from leadership or technical sessions.
  • Collaboration and Teamwork
    • Build collaboration across pods and wider team to solve shared challenges.
    • Lead cross‐functional or departmental initiatives.
    • Foster a culture of openness, trust and shared responsibility.
    • Offer hands‐on support where resources or expertise is needed.
  • Client Relationship Management
    • Manage end‐to‐end client relationships across the portfolio.
    • Lead conversations around scope, fees and service levels.
    • Identify evolving client needs and respond proactively.
    • Ensure consistent, high‐quality service aligned with client expectations.
  • Ethics and Professional Conduct
    • Set and uphold strong standards of ethics, confidentiality and compliance.
    • Act quickly and transparently when issues arise.
    • Hold others accountable to professional conduct and firm values.
    • Model integrity in all internal and client‐facing interactions.
  • Leadership and Mentoring
    • Lead 1:1s, pod meetings and regular coaching conversations.
    • Oversee performance reviews and support career development planning.
    • Coach team members to become independent problem‐solvers.

You'll Be Ideal for This Role If You Have:

  • Experience
    • Typically 6+ years of accounts and business service experience, with several years in a managerial role.
    • Managing a portfolio with a focus on profitability within the ABS function.
    • Representing the firm externally and contributing to its strategic growth.
  • Skills
    • Strategic thinking and commercial acumen.
    • Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience developing high‐performing teams.
    • Excellent stakeholder management and ability to build lasting client relationships.
    • Business development capabilities, including identifying new opportunities and driving growth.
    • Ability to handle complex and high‐profile engagements.
  • Qualifications
    • ACA / ACCA qualified (or equivalent) with significant post‐qualification experience.
