General Description
The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) is the field-based Medical Affairs representative in relation to the external medical community. This role is responsible for building and maintaining professional relationships with Healthcare Professionals (HCPs), Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and other external stakeholders to exchange scientific and medical information related to BeOne's therapeutic areas, products and pipeline. Through regular field interactions, the MSL collects, analyzes and communicates actionable medical insights, emerging trends and unmet medical needs to internal stakeholders, contributing to the definition and execution of medical affairs strategies. The role collaborates closely within Medical Affairs, Clinical Operations, and other internal teams, while maintaining medical independence and ensuring full compliance with regulatory, ethical, and company standards. MSLs contribute to advancing scientific knowledge, supporting the safe and appropriate use of BeOne products, and strengthening the company’s scientific credibility within the healthcare community.
Essential Functions Of The Job
- SCIENTIFIC & MEDICAL COMMUNICATION
- Deliver high-quality, accurate and non-promotional scientific exchange with healthcare professionals (HCPs) and Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs).
- Develop and execute tactics for communicating complex scientific information to the healthcare community, in communication with the TAL.
- Provide accurate and up-to-date scientific communication on BeOne’s pipeline products and/or indications in development, at the request of Healthcare Professionals.
- Facilitate responses to unsolicited requests for medical information, often in direct collaboration with BeOne Medical Information Services personnel as appropriate.
- Provide first-line scientific communication on the assigned products/environment in response to requests from HCPs.
- Present data on BeOne products, including clinical data, development data, publications and, upon unsolicited requests, data outside the scope of marketing authorization, through ad-hoc field engagements or during scientific meetings.
- Before, during and after congresses of regional or global importance, support enterprise activities such as booth duty and session coverage, as well as partaking in the planning and execution of omnichannel initiatives, thereby taking a shared responsibility for achieving our goals as BeOne.
- KOL ENGAGEMENT
- Identify, map, develop and maintain engagement plans for medical experts and national or regional institutional networks (healthcare decision‑makers, public health organizations, etc.) in the assigned therapeutic area and location.
- Establish, develop and maintain long‑term professional relationships with HCPs and cooperative groups in BeOne's therapeutic areas.
- Propose, initiate, implement and monitor scientific partnerships in line with the cross-functional strategy established for the key clinical sites and hospitals in the assigned region.
- Participate in the planning, organization and execution of medical events (e.g. Congresses, AdBoard...) according to needs.
- EVIDENCE GENERATION & CLINICAL SUPPORT
- Identify and verify investigators and clinical sites for company-sponsored clinical trials.
- Contribute to or conduct monitoring on developments in the therapeutic area landscape and standards of care.
- In collaboration with clinical operations, participate in site feasibility assessments, planning and onboarding of clinical trials sites, and continuous follow-up of sites and ongoing trials in the assigned region.
- Serve as the primary territory liaison for the receipt, preliminary review, and submission of Investigator Sponsored Research proposals, facilitating the process from concept submission through publication.
- MEDICAL INSIGHTS & STRATEGIC INPUT
- Collect, analyze and communicate field‑based medical insights to internal stakeholders.
- Provide scientific input and field‑based feedback to define, update and support medical affairs strategies.
- Identify unmet medical needs and emerging trends in the therapeutic area.
- CROSS-FUNCTIONAL COLLABORATION
- Build strong relationships with the Medical Affairs Department and collaborate with BeOne's European and Global Medical Affairs teams.
- Interact with sales teams on cross‑functional projects unrelated to products.
- Organize local scientific events, review scientific literature, and support the Medical Manager with scientific training programs and medical updates to the Field Sales Force.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to develop and execute a medical plan designed to meet shared objectives.
Qualifications & Capabilities
- MSc/MD/PhD with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in the Pharmaceutical Industry, ideally with relevant clinical, scientific and/or medical affairs experience in relevant therapeutic area – Solid tumours (Upper GI or Lung of advantage).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong stakeholder engagement capabilities.
- Deep understanding of the relevant therapeutic area landscape and local market dynamics.
- Solid understanding of treatment guidelines, compliance standards, and local/regional regulatory requirements.
- Ability to identify and address unmet medical, educational and research needs within the medical community.
- Proven ability to translate scientific and clinical data into actionable medical insights.
- Clinical research experience is preferred.
- Strong project management skills with demonstrated ability to manage projects and/or colleagues in successful implementation of business‑critical projects.
- Ability to effectively collaborate in a dynamic and global environment.
- Exhibits high degree of emotional intelligence and appreciation of diversity and multiculturalism.
- Proven ability to drive results at a high level of quality as a strategic and creative thinker.

- Strong time management and organizational skills.
Education Required
- Advanced scientific or clinical degree is mandatory.
Computer Skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, experienced with electronic CRM systems.
Other Qualifications
- Fluency in both verbal and written English necessary; any other major European language of advantage.
Travel
- Field‑based role with significant travel expected within the UK and Ireland (50‑60%), as well as to national meetings, congresses and events; a valid driving license is required.
