Benyon Primary School, part of Catalyst Academies Trust, is pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for Teaching Assistant Apprentices to join our dedicated and supportive team from September 2026. Benyon Primary School is situated in pleasant surroundings on the outskirts of South Ockendon and is proud to be rated Good by Ofsted. As part of Catalyst Academies Trust, apprentices may also have opportunities to train across other trust schools, including Aveley Primary School, Dilkes Academy, Quarry Hill Academy and Somers Heath Primary School. This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic and committed individual who is motivated by making a positive difference to children’s lives and is interested in progressing towards a career in education.
You will work with children aged 5–11, supporting learning both in the classroom and in small group or one‑to‑one situations under the direction of teaching staff.
Key responsibilities:- Supporting individuals or small groups of pupils
- Establishing positive relationships with pupils
- Implementing planned learning activities as directed by the class teacher
- Supporting pupils with literacy and numeracy activities
- Promoting positive behaviour in line with school policies
- Supporting the use of ICT in the classroom
- Providing feedback to teachers on pupil progress and behaviour
- Maintaining confidentiality at all times
- Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship Standard
- 5 days per week, including 1 day at college
- Duration: 21–24 months
