Senior Sous Chef – Natural History Museum
We are looking for a Senior Sous Chef to join the team at the iconic Natural History Museum.
Our food offer at the Natural History Museum ranges from busy cafes serving freshly made sandwiches and barista coffee, to family friendly restaurant with pizzas, burgers, and seasonal dishes. In addition, we cater for a variety of casual events, including museum sleepovers.
We offer:
Shifts: Mainly daytime, 5 days out of 7 (including weekends)
Contract: Full Time, Permanent
About the Sous Chef role:
- Reporting directly with the Head Chef and deputising in their absence
- Working with the Head Chef and Group Executive Chef to develop new menu ideas and ways to improve our offerings
- Ensuring the food quality is at its highest standard at all times
- Ensure the performance of the chef teamis ofthe highest standard by motivating and leading by example
- Overseeing stock levels and making key decisions about stock control in conjunction with the Head Chef
- Ensure all food safety and health and safety procedures are maintained to the highest standard
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience within a high volume kitchens
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- An understanding of events, canapes, bowl food and banqueting
- An eye for detail, and the ability to produce food to a high standard
- The ability to lead, motivate, and manage a team effectively
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- A thorough understanding of food safety and hygiene regulation
