We are recruiting for a Commis Chef to join our Chef Brigade at Bents! Do you want to work in an environment serving freshly made exceptional high-quality products every day, have a passion for food and want a great work/life balance? Then this is the job for you!

As our Commis Chef within our Chef Brigade you'll have a vital role in supporting our Chef Brigade in the production of our freshly made food to serve across our 1000-seater Dining areas. Whether preparing your area, chopping vegetables, making the perfect pasta sauce or cleaning down your area, you will be at the heart of a busy Chef Team.

Your daily role will include:

  • Preparing and chopping fresh food ingredients.
  • Measuring dish ingredients and portion sizes accurately.
  • Maintaining high standards of hygiene.
  • Dealing with deliveries and stock rotation.
  • Basic cooking under supervision.

Our ideal Commis Chef will have the below skills and experience:

  • This role would be ideal for a hardworking, disciplined team player with a lot of stamina who possesses a friendly personality.
  • Previous experience in a similar food environment as a Commis Chef is essential.
  • Experience of working in a high-volume Restaurant or similar is desirable.
  • You'll have the ability to learn on your feet and be passionate about food because we're not going to lie, cooking in a high-pressure kitchen can be hard work but super rewarding!
  • Shows the ability to work at pace and under pressure.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a large team.

Other details of the Commis Chef role:

  • The role offers full time hours of 40 average weekly hours, you'll have one set day off each week, and work alternate weekends and an evening shift.
  • Please note, during the induction and training period of 3 months, the successful candidate will need to work every weekend having 2 weekday shifts off. A flexible approach is required.
  • The role is on a permanent basis.
  • In line with the Age Discrimination Act 2006, it is Company policy not to discriminate against any persons regarding their age whether in or applying for employment however due to the equipment used within our Kitchens, you must be 18 years or over to work within The Fresh Approach Restaurant Kitchens.
