Opportunity for a Chief Engineer with significant Aerospace Design and Leadership experience to join an Aerospace / UAV design and manufacturing business, focussed on innovation and delivery. This role will see you working with a high degree of autonomy on cutting-edge aerospace technology and solutions.
The core focus for this position will be developing and delivering the engineering design and customer delivery strategy. Your secondary focal point will be the leadership and mentorship of the design and manufacturing teams, while fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities:
- Leadership and integration of the mechanical design, avionic design and manufacturing teams, deploying resources effectively and strategically.
- Oversee and supervise research and development activities
- Management and ownership of the Engineering P&L and budgets
- Design authority sign off
- Aligning rapid prototyping initiatives to scalable low-volume manufacturing processes
Experience:
- 10 years + experience in a senior/director/principal/head of engineering design position in the aerospace or aeronautical industry
- Proven experience in product development from concept through to manufacture and delivery
- Demonstrable experience in managing multiple complex engineering processes
- Degree educated, ideally to Master\βs level in aerospace, aeronautical or mechanical engineering
- Strong knowledge of aerospace design practices, 2D CAD drawings and 3D models, CFD, FEA and avionic systems integration.
You must hold a British passport, or be a UK resident 5 years + and qualify for Security Clearance
