We are looking for an experienced Associate Director to join our established team in our Manchester Office leading on the delivery of major public sector-funded highway infrastructure projects.
What you’ll do
- The role involves overseeing project delivery for our public sector clients (with a focus on early stage pre-contract activities), managing budgets and programmes, liaising with key stakeholders, and leading multidisciplinary teams.
- You will also be responsible for working with the senior management team in the region on developing further opportunities alongside the management of key client accounts and leading on the delivery of projects.
Ideal candidate requirements
- Strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills.
- Solid background in project and commercial management.
- Experience delivering highway infrastructure projects (for public sector clients).
- Pre-contract project management experience.
- Key commercial issues on projects.
- An understanding of the UK planning process (e.g. EIA, ES, discharging conditions).
- Programme and budget management.
- Developing consultant briefs and managing large multi-disciplinary teams.
- Liaising with Statutory Stakeholders (e.g. National Highways / Network Rail / Environment Agency etc.).
- Developing bespoke project documentation (e.g. Procurement Strategies / Land Acquisition Strategies / PR & Comms Strategies etc.).
- Chairing project meetings.
Desirable candidate knowledge
- Understanding of the NEC suite of contracts.
- Cost management.
- Risk management.
- Government / combined authorities funding and process.
- Liaising with stakeholders and interest groups (e.g. community groups etc.).
- Bespoke Government guidance (e.g. WebTAG / DMRB etc.).
- Land acquisition process (inc. Voluntary Acquisition and Compulsory Purchase Orders).
- Project Governance procedures.
- Procurement legislation.
